This barrel no longer requires the use of a two piece gas block, the low profile muzzle device allows the use of any gas block with a .750" inside diameter.
This YHM barrel features a 5.56x45mm NATO chamber for full compatibility with surplus mil-spec ammunition or commercial 223 Remington ammunition. Constructed of 4140 chrome moly steel, the barrel is Melonited for ultimate surface protection. The melonite coating provides a thinner surface than chrome-lining, so bore friction is reduced for better accuracy. In addition, melonite is harder than chrome-lining providing a longer wear life. This barrel features a permanently attached Low Profile Flash Hider (YHM-24-A) that brings the overall length of the barrel to a legal 16".

    This is my first order from YHM but will not be my last. This barrel looks amazing and holds a tight group. They definitely put out quality products. I'm very happy with my purchase and will be ordering from them again in the future.

    I have always been a fan of everything Yankee Hill, this barrel is no exception. The quality is unmatched. The fluting and finish speak to Yankee Hill's attention to detail and quality. The design was well thought out as now you can use any gas block, not having to settle for a two piece to get past the flash hider. A great barrel.

    As the title suggests this barrel is all about quality. The barrel itself with its fluting is a work of art. It’s light And it’s seamlessly married to the muzzle. I’m looking now to add a YHM barrel in a different caliber.
