Drop-In Handguards

Drop-in handguards offer the simplest installation method, requiring no special tools or gunsmithing expertise. YHM's Two-Piece Carbine handguards replace standard plastic guards with a robust 4-rail Picatinny design that transforms your rifle's mounting capabilities. KeyMod Handguards

Black Diamond M-LOK Series: Premium lightweight AR15 forend systems combining the proven Diamond Series design with modern M-LOK technology. These very lightweight handguards include mounting holes along the entire length with mounting positions at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock, plus "T" marked extended top rails. Available in carbine (7.3"), mid-length (9.3"), and rifle (12.6") lengths.
Diamond Series Picatinny: Distinctive diamond-pattern heat vents combined with robust Picatinny mounting systems. These AR-15 handrail options feature diamond-shaped heat vents, continuous "T" marked extended top rails for gap-free installations, and are made with 6061-T6 aluminum. Available in carbine (7.2"), mid-length (9.3"), and rifle (12.58") configurations.
Two-Piece Drop-In Handguards: Easy installation AR forearm systems that transform standard plastic guards into full 4-rail Picatinny systems. Are YHM AR-15 handguards compatible with AR-10 rifles?

No, AR-15 and AR-10 rifles have different dimensions and mounting systems, so their handguards are not interchangeable. Each platform requires specifically designed components for proper fit and function. YHM manufactures separate product lines for AR-15 and AR-10 platforms to ensure optimal compatibility.

How long should my handguard be and can I install one longer than my gas system?

The right handguard length depends on your gas system and barrel length first, then how many accessories will be mounted, and your stylistic needs. If you want a lightweight AR-15 rail for mobility, a shorter one works better. If you want more accessories mounted, a longer one is the right choice.

They generally fit based on length classifications including pistol length, carbine length, mid-length, and rifle length. Lengths vary between manufacturers, so reference the specific length needed for your rifle. In most cases a low-profile gas block will allow you to mount a longer handguard than the gas system was originally designed for. For example, a rifle length AR15 forend can often be mounted on a carbine length gas system, providing more accessory mounting space.

Do YHM handguards come with installation hardware and tools?

Yes, all YHM AR-15 handguards come with the parts necessary for installation and detailed instructions to aid you through the installation process. The MR7 handguards include the tools necessary for installation, eliminating the need for additional purchases. What's the difference between free-float and drop-in handguards?

Free-float handguards do not touch the barrel, which helps maintain accuracy by eliminating any contact-induced shifts during firing. These AR15 forend systems require barrel nut replacement and offer superior precision for competitive and tactical applications. YHM's MR7 series and Diamond Series represent the pinnacle of free-float design.

Drop-in handguards fit over the Mil-Spec barrel nut and are attached to the front sight base and the delta ring.
