Suppressor covers are a great accessory for your suppressor to reduce your thermal signature and prevent accidental burns. Adding a suppressor cover to your equipment can mean the difference between an “uncomfortable brush” with a hot suppressor and a serious burn. See our selection of suppressor covers below!
Our suppressor covers consist of multiple layers of protection with temperature ratings up to 3000 degrees. The outer shell is made of 1000 Denier Cordura Nylon which provides water resistance and resists abrasion, rot, mildew, and fading.
We have unique locking straps or laces for our suppressor covers to ensure they stay on during use. This means you’ll have to check the cover less often and can focus more on shooting.
Our standard covers come in three lengths and work with our suppressors and other manufacturer’s suppressors of similar size. Fitment for specific suppressor models: 6.875 inches (Resonator®, Resonator® R2 Suppressors), 5.5 inches (Turbo®, Turbo® T2, Turbo T3, R45), and 4.5 inches (Turbo® K, Resonator® K, and R9™)
These covers are 4.5 inches long and work with our Fat Cat® suppressors. One variant is rated for full-auto fire and uses special heat-resistant laces for additional retention. The standard Fat Cat® cover uses our standard retention straps.
The main purpose of a suppressor cover is to reduce the heat signature or mirage coming off a hot suppressor, enhancing visibility down range. It also reduces the suppressors' heat signature under thermal scopes, protects the outer surface of the suppressor, and can prevent burns if you brush up against a hot suppressor.
Hunters like to use suppressor covers because they help mitigate heat mirage while shooting which can impact accuracy. Using a suppressor cover can also cut down on the suppressor’s visibility under thermal scopes, which can impact night hunts.
Suppressors can easily go over 800°F with continuous, semi-automatic fire. Suppressor covers have a specified heat rating. Many designs have a higher-rated inner liner (our options have a 3000°F rating) with a buffer material between the outer protective shell.
However, if you shoot for too long without cooling the suppressor the heat can build up enough to start to damage the outer shell of the cover. This is especially true when using shorter barrels.
While suppressor covers can prevent burns, they are not designed to be safely handled when hot.
