9mm Pistol Suppressor FAQs
Do I need a piston for a 9mm suppressor?
It depends on the 9mm suppressor you are using, and the firearm it is mounted to.
A piston, also known as a Nielson device, is used in pistol suppressors to ensure proper cycling of the pistol slide when the suppressor is attached. It is typically used on many 9mm semi-automatic pistols with tilted barrel actions like Glocks, Beretta 92, CZ 75, Springfield Armory XD, and SIG Sauer P226.
Pistols that have a fixed barrel, or use a blowback or other recoil management system may not require a piston.
It's important to use the correct suppressor and accessories designed for your specific firearm to ensure proper function, safety, and reliability. Please contact our sales staff if you have any more questions on the components needed for your firearm.
Can I shoot 30 cal ammo through a 9mm suppressor?
It is not recommended to shoot 30 cal through a 9mm suppressor. It is not rated to handle the higher pressure and gas produced by a 30 cal round.
.300 Blackout SUBSONIC is okay to use with a 16” barrel.
Please refer to the product specifications to verify what ammo can be used with your suppressor.
Can I shoot 223 ammo through a 9mm suppressor?
223 ammo can not be shot through a 9mm suppressor. While 223 has a smaller diameter than 9mm ammo, the pressure produced is higher than a 9mm suppressor is rated for.
Please refer to the product specifications to verify what ammo can be used with your suppressor.
