9mm capable rifle silencers are commonly used on light-duty rifles like carbines and subguns. Combining your 9mm rifle with a silencer provides a great shooting experience as it produces the lowest decibels of any rifle, especially with subsonic ammunition.
Other benefits of using a 9mm silencer are reduced recoil, muzzle flash, and improved accuracy. These silencers are popular with competition & recreational shooters, and law enforcement.
The R9® is a 9mm suppressor capable of handling high volumes of fire and the ability to run other calibers such as .300 BLK and .308 Winchester at a budget-friendly price. It was primarily designed for suppressing 9mm (specifically sub-machine guns and SBRs) but works well across a spectrum of calibers. The R9® is capable of being used on a handgun in conjunction with our Nielsen Booster Assembly.
The R9 is made with 17-4 PH stainless steel and has a fully-welded tubeless body. Its dimensions are 5.2” x 1.562”, and weighs a modest 10.7 oz. The rear mounting threads are 1-3/8”-24, HUB, and ships with a 1/2”-28 direct thread adapter.
It is important to use handgun-compatible suppressors for semi-automatic pistols that incorporate boosting devices that help cycle the action. The R9® and NITRO® N20 are capable of being used on handguns in conjunction with our Nielsen Booster Assembly.
Our NITRO® N20 and R9® models are rated for use with both 9mm handgun rounds and various rifle cartridges listed below.
Generally speaking, you want to use a caliber that your silencer is rated for. Some 9mm suppressors can not handle the pressure from a 556 round.
Our NITRO® N20 and R9 can be used with 5.56 NATO ammunition fired in a rifle with a minimum of 16” barrel length.
You can shoot rimfire ammunition through a 9mm suppressor as long as your mounting system is compatible, but rimfires are best suited for rimfire-specific suppressors that are much smaller and lighter than centerfire-rated suppressors. Since the NITRO N2O and R9 do not come apart for cleaning any lead buildup from shooting .22lr will be permanent.
Unlike most 9mm suppressors, our NITRO® N2O and R9® models are rated for use with both subsonic and full-power 300 blackout rounds.
YHM manufactures a variety of Q.D. (quick disconnect) muzzle brakes including our sRx™ models and Phantom models. The Nitro N20 is compatible with the standard and mini Q.D. Phantom muzzle brakes. The R9 is compatible with the standard or mini Q.D. Phantom and standard or mini sRx™ muzzle brakes.
These brakes can be used with a suppressor as the mounting platform or as a standalone muzzle brake for excellent recoil control. All brakes are matched to the caliber and precisely manufactured for a simple installation every time.
We also manufacture Q.D. flash hiders including our sRx™ models and Phantom models. Yankee Hill Machine flash hiders are highly effective and often reduce muzzle flash by 99%. They are available in a variety of bore diameters and thread sizes to fit almost any application.
